Time tunnel
Take Titleist for example; you might have been lucky enough to own its 905R driver way back in 2006. The 905R featured a distinctive pear-shaped profile, with a shallow face set naturally square at address to boost confidence at address. Like many of the drivers back then, it had a titanium head which is a lot heavier than what you'll find in today's drivers. The 905R is a classic club, and is certainly remembered with fondness. Fast-forward to the present day, and Titleist has released its most technologically advanced drivers to date in the form of TS2 and TS3. The TS2 is designed for pure speed, with forgiveness and accuracy across the face for straighter drives and a modern clubhead shape. The TS3 has a more classic design, and features an adjustable swing weight and centre of gravity, making it easy to fit to your swing. So, whilst it is nice to think about your first ever driver, it's probably time to get up to speed with the latest models such as the TS2 or TS3. Who knows? Maybe in another 10 years time, you'll be looking back on the TS models with as much fondness as the 905R?
